ShenSpa operates under the supervision of Tania Damavandy, MD who serves as the medical director and is an active practitioner in our spa, so you can be confident in the highest standard of care. ShenSpa is owned by Shenandoah Memorial Hospital/Valley Health and has a medical director.
Dr. Tania Damavandy is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist and has Level One Board Certification in Aesthetic Medicine. She graduated from The George Washington University School of Medicine in 1999. Her residency training was completed at Tufts University New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts in 2003, after which, she joined the Shenandoah Women’s Care practice at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital/Valley Health.
Dr. Damavandy has always had an interest in alternative medicine, and became interested in aesthetic medicine in 2005, when her patients began requesting aesthetic procedures and she realized just how important this was in the mind-body-spirit connection. Looking for an opportunity to incorporate these aspects into her practice of medicine, she attended numerous courses and obtained certification in Aesthetic and Cosmetic medicine. Dr Damavandy then partnered with Shenandoah Memorial Hospital to develop a medical spa~ ShenSpa.
She is a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and the American Academy of Cosmetic Gynecologists. Dr. Damavandy is also the first Associate of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute in the State of Virginia.
